How to Measure Your Ring Size
At My Jewellery Shop, we understand that finding the perfect ring size is just as important as choosing the perfect piece. Whether you're shopping for yourself or someone special, we’ve created this guide to help you confidently determine the right fit.
There are two main ways to discover your ideal size: using an existing ring or measuring your finger. We use the standard Australian letter sizing system.
Option 1: Measure a Ring You Already Own
- Choose a ring that fits the intended finger well.
- Measure the internal diameter (in millimetres) using a ruler or measuring tape. Be sure to measure only the part that touches your finger.
- Use our Ring Size Chart below to match your measurement to the corresponding Australian ring size.

Method 2: Measure Your Finger
- Cut a strip of paper or string roughly 10cm long.
- Wrap it around the base of the finger you plan to wear the ring on.
- Mark where the end overlaps with a pen.
- Lay it flat and measure the distance from the end to the mark using a millimetre ruler. This is your finger’s circumference.

- Your fingers can swell slightly throughout the day, measure in the afternoon for best results.
- Each finger (and hand) is different. Be sure to measure the correct one.

Can Rings Be Resized?
In most cases, yes. Many of our gold and platinum rings can be resized by our expert jewellers. However, some materials such as titanium or tungsten, and certain full-eternity designs cannot be resized due to their unique structure.
For custom designs or significant size changes, we recommend a professional fitting before placing your order. If resizing is needed later, our team will always advise you on what’s possible based on the style and setting of your piece.

A: Yes, most of our jewellers are locally based on the Gold Coast. For certain specialised tasks, we may send pieces to jewellers with the specific expertise required. Rest assured, all items are personally handled by the owner during transport to ensure they are carefully cared for and returned without any damage. Additionally, we are fully covered by insurance during the entire process, providing you with extra peace of mind.

For other jewelry items, cleaning may take up to 5-7 days, depending on the condition and design of the piece.

Q: Does your jewellery come with a guarantee?
A: Yes, most pieces come with a 12-month manufacturer's guarantee. We are happy to assess any item outside of this period if the damage appears unreasonable. Additionally, all engagement and wedding rings purchased from My Jewellery Shop come with a 7-year Diamond Guarantee, which requires a complimentary clean and inspection every 6 months to maintain the validity of your diamond warranty.

Q: Can you cut my ring off if it gets stuck?
A: Yes, most of our staff, along with our on-site jeweller, are trained to safely remove jewellery pieces that may be stuck, including cutting off gold and silver rings if necessary. After removal, we will provide a quote for repair and resizing of the piece, should you choose to proceed with restoring it.

Q: Are your diamonds ethically sourced?
A: Yes, both our natural earth-grown diamonds and lab-grown diamonds are sourced with traceable origins. Each diamond we source is accompanied by a certificate to verify its origin and authenticity.
