Perry Cross Foundation

Perry Cross Foundation

No one wants to experience life with paralysis.

Yet every day in Australia at least one person has their life changed forever in this devastating way. Day to day tasks and mobility become an extraordinary challenge.

Perry Cross is one such person whose life was unforeseeably and profoundly changed in an instant.
His approach to his paralysis has been inspirational, his aim for the foundation is to facilitate,
collaborate and initiate the connections and research required to find a cure for paralysis.

Diamond in the Divot

My Jewellery Shop was proud to partner with Perry Cross Foundation and Walsh Accountants for Diamond in the Divot at the 2018 Walsh Accountants Polo Day. A fabulous day filled with great company, delicious food and lots of sunshine with money raised going towards The Perry Cross Spinal Research Foundation.

The standout of the day was the exiting Diamond in the Divot event. Participants entered by purchasing a beautiful commemorative bracelet, donated by My Jewellery Shop and then ran out onto the field between the main Polo matches on the hunt for the diamond in the divot. While the ‘real’ diamond wasn't actually hidden on the field, the person to find the “replica’ won a 0.50ct brilliant cut diamond valued at $5,000! Diamond in the Divot was a fantastic event with all the competitors really giving it a go and having a blast. Congratulations Grant on winning your new diamond!

An amazing $6,220 was raised in total on the day, which will go towards helping find a cure for paralysis.

Sip for a Cure

We are so proud to have been able to partner with The Perry Cross Spinal Research Foundation on their SIP for a cure Fundraiser. My Jewellery Shop created the world’s most expensive straw in support of The Perry Cross Foundation SIP Week! Valued at over $8000 this stunning keepsake featured 350 white diamonds and was made in solid gold.

The bejewelled straw was the major prize for the fundraiser; SIP every drink you drink for a week through a straw to raise money to find a cure for spinal cord injury.

There were 153 sippers at final count, raising an impressive $84,729 towards spinal research.
